Tri-State Quilting Angels

Plaque at Blessing Hospital's Cancer Center

Three local quilt guilds have collaborated to create memory quilts for Hannibal Regional Hospital's Cary Cancer Center and Blessing Hospital Cancer Center. Called the Tri-State Quilting Angels, members of the Hannibal Piecemakers, The Knox County Kut-Ups, and the Quincy Quilting Guild have been making signature blocks for patients and their family members. The blocks are then returned to the guild members who complete the quilts.

On November 9, 2006 two quilts were presented to the Blessing Cancer Center. Organizers at Blessing were thrilled to see the quilts and graciously treated participants to refreshments and music.

This program is ongoing and we continue to need 14" blocks for the quilts. Many thanks to the quilters who are making this memorial possible.
